Adobe AI: The secure AI solution under your nose

Deploying AI solutions doesn’t need to be complicated. Adobe’s Acrobat AI Assistant provides your customers with the full value of AI in a secure, cost-efficient package with a rapid deployment process. Our blog breaks down the benefits.

Description:

The last few years have propelled AI to the top of the IT agenda for businesses of all sizes, and it’s easy to see why. New generative AI technology can serve as a force multiplier, making users more productive and enabling entirely new ways of working.

But while the benefits are clear, implementing these solutions often proves to be a challenge for MSPs and end customers alike. Concerns about the security of many popular AI tools sandbags adoption plans, while high per-user licence costs make it difficult to build a business case for widespread deployment.

Not all AI tools carry the same baggage, however.

Adobe’s AI Assistant

Adobe is no stranger to AI tools, with their Firefly image generator continuing to prove popular for creatives, powering tools like Photoshop’s Generative Fill. But this often overshadows an equally useful solution: Acrobat AI Assistant.

Designed to work primarily in Adobe Acrobat, Acrobat AI Assistant is able to read files uploaded by a user, interpreting the information they contain in order to provide summaries, and even generate net new content based on original documents.

While it’s designed to work in Acrobat, the Adobe AI isn’t just limited to PDFs. Other file types, including .docx and .pptx, are legible to the solution, and multiple files can be fed into the solution at once. This makes it an extremely valuable tool for understanding lengthy documents in a short span of time and combining insights from multiple sources. For example, a user in sales may feed the solution a selection of proposals, quotes, and contracts in order to quickly understand the status of a given project.

Secure by design

One of the unique features of Adobe’s AI Assistant compared to others on the market is how it keeps data safe. Microsoft Copilot, and other similar business AIs, sit inside a customer’s IT environment, able to surface files and information as needed to meet user requests. That provides a benefit in terms of ease-of-use and allows customers to leverage AI tools as a powerful search engine to surface internal files and data. But while this is valuable, IT environments must also be carefully controlled to ensure the AI assistant doesn’t access sensitive or confidential information inadvertently.

By contrast, the Adobe AI is isolated from the wider IT environment, only able to interpret files that a user provides it with directly. This means there’s zero chance of the tool surfacing confidential files that a user wouldn’t normally be able to access.

This is also differs from other AI tools like ChatGPT, which use user inputs as training data. Adobe AI doesn’t retain memory of files it’s seen, removing any risk of confidential information being surfaced by other users querying the AI.

This makes it an excellent first foray into AI for more security-minded businesses, who can get all the benefits of an AI assistant for their users without needing to worry about compromising sensitive information. Combined with the tool’s ability to quickly summarise multiple lengthy documents at speed, it’s a clear choice for customers in sectors such as legal and finance where detailed and long-form documents are the norm.

The benefits of AI, on a budget

The Adobe AI’s level of security is tough to beat. For comparison, paid versions of ChatGPT can offer a similar user experience, but require a Team or Enterprise licence to prevent user data feeding into the model’s training algorithms. Those licences each cost over $20 per user per month.

Acrobat AI Assistant, meanwhile, is currently available at a fixed introductory price of just under £5 per user per month. This solidifies it as a great foundation for your customers to start harnessing the benefits of AI, keeping data secure while still delivering a huge productivity gain for end users with a low cost.

This also makes it incredibly easy to deploy for your customers. While Microsoft Copilot requires extensive pre-deployment work to safeguard sensitive data in a customer's environment, Acrobat AI Assistant is ready to start assisting users straight out of the gate, minimising the time to value.
